Yes, you heard right, we've started a podcast!
Why? Well, we're always thinking of new ways to showcase the projects that have gone through TFI, inform you on what we're up to and highlight the innovative thinkers that are in our communinty; our hope is TFI LIVE will touch on all of this (and more).
For our first episode we spotlight Picture Motion (starts at the 00:37 mark), a company that specializes in using social media, grassroots screenings and partnership development to create social action campaigns for documentary and narrative films (they've done so already for films like Bully, TFI alum God Loves Uganda and Fruitvale Station). We chat with their Director of Communications, Allie Hoffman, and their Director of Digital Strategy, Darcy Heusel.
Then we talk to 2012 TFI New Media Fund grantee (and recently announced by Filmmaker Magazine as one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film) Elaine McMillion about her web documentary, Hollow (15:35).
Hope you enjoy it! Keep an eye out for TFI LIVE episodes monthly.
Host: Jason Guerrasio, TFI Web Editor
Along with creating the web content for TFI, Jason also writes regularly about movies and the film industry for numerous publications including Vanity Fair, Indiewire and Film.com. Previously he was the managing editor of Filmmaker Magazine.
